fried green tomatoes

my own recipe

1/2 cup milk

2 large eggs

1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

3 green tomatoes, cut into 1/2 in slices

salt and pepper

canola oil for fryer

heat oil in deep fryer to 375 degrees. in a small bowl whisk together two eggs and milk.  in another small bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper.  dredge each slice in the egg mixture, then into the cornmeal mixture and drop in the deep fryer.  3 to 4 tomatoes can go in the fryer at a time.  let cook for about 5 minutes, continuously flipping them to brown each side.

when the tomatoes are done, place on a paper towel covered plate to drain the grease.  immediately sprinkle with salt and serve!  these did not even need a dipping sauce because they were just perfect in our new fryer!
