steak with mushroom sauce
my own recipe
8oz package of mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 small yellow onion, finely diced
2 springs fresh rosemary, finely chopped
hand full of basil leaves, finely sliced
heat olive oil in a sauce pan over medium heat. when hot, add mushrooms and cook down for about 5 minutes. add onion and garlic and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until the onions turn translucent. add vinegar, worcestershire, rosemary and basil. bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 25 minutes to let the sauce build flavor.
2 tenderloin steaks
dry rub (we use garlic power, onion powder, paprika, chili powder, salt and lots of pepper) you can use what ever steak seasoning you like
heat the outdoor grill to medium/high heat. spray the grill with cooking spray so the steak don’t stick when you try to flip them. place meat on grill and cook for about 4 minutes on each side. (cook longer if you like more well done. my husband and i like our steak practically still alive so we don’t cook it very long). remove from grill and let rest for 10 minutes. plate up steak and pour the decadent mushroom sauce on top! it is a winning combination for sure!
