gouda drop biscuit sandwich

my own recipe

for biscuits  
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tbsp salt
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded gouda cheese
1 tsp black pepper

for sandwich  
2 eggs, scrambled
4 slices of bacon, fried
1 tsp honey

preheat oven to 450 degrees. in a bowl, combine all dry ingredients except pepper. pour into a mixer and slowly add melted butter and milk. once combined, add cheese and mix until incorporated. with a spoon, drop batter onto a greased cookie sheet about an inch apart (lends about 10 biscuits depending on the size you want). sprinkle each biscuit with a little black pepper. bake for 20 minutes until biscuits are brown.

to assemble sandwich, slice the cooled biscuit open and spread top and bottom layer with honey. add scrambled eggs and 1 slice of bacon. serve immediately.

in Atlanta, we have a restaurant called Buttermilk Kitchen with the most decadent breakfast food.  i was trying to recreate there amazing breakfast sandwich with my own twist!  (and maybe 1/2 the calories)!

    Yummy!Love the idea of black pepper and honey! I wouldn’t have thought of that.
